Williamnagar July 18: The Police of East Garo Hills today had done a tremendous job where they could intercept huge consignment of weapons meant for the GNLA militant that was brought from Dimapur of Nagaland.
The Superintendent of Police East Garo Hills District Mr J K F Marak told SP News Agency that they have received the information that one Scorpio bearing the number of Assam AS01AJ-5102 is proceding to Garo Hills with arms and ammunition in the vehicles.
The Police intercepted this vehicles at Chinabat of the East Garo Hills District. From the vehicles the police recover one AK- riffle with UBGL-3, one AK –rifle with drum magazine with bipot 4, two with UBGL Grenade cell and six rifle ammunition with of different caliber.
The police has arrested mr Beet Sangma of Dimapur and two others Mr Taklu and Kari Ao both from Dimapur where escaped. All this arms and ammunition where meant for the GNLA minlitant.(SP News)
