Shillong, Oct 04: On the first day of the autumn session of the Meghalaya Legislative assembly 2013, amidst hue and cry over the demand for the adjournment motion called by the opposition, several important bills were introduced.
Meghalaya Co-operative Societies Bill, 2013 was introduced by minister HDR Lyngdoh, Meghalaya Maintenance of Public Order (Amendment) Bill by deputy chief minister Rowell Lyngdoh, who also introduced the Criminal Laws (Meghalaya Amendment) Bill, 2013.
Chief minister Mukul Sangma introduced the Meghalaya Lokayukta (Amendment) Bill, 2013, home minister Roshan Warjri introduced Poison (Meghalaya Amendment) Bill, 2013, while deputy chief minister RC Laloo introduced the Meghalaya Private Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2013.
Chief minister Mukul Sangma laid the seventh annual report of the Meghalaya State Information Commission for the year 2012.
Notifications was laid on the table of the house on Friday included those relating to Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Rules, 2013, Meghalaya State Commission for Protection of Child Rights Rules, 2013, Meghalaya Food Grains (Public Distribution System) Control (Amendment) Order, 2012.
