Ampati, Sept 26: Students and teachers of GVP Higher Secondary School, Belbari, joined voices with participants across the country on Friday in a nationwide mass rendition of Vande Mataram, as part of the ‘Namami Bharatam’ initiative marking 150 years of the National Song.
The school’s participation was part of an ambitious drive by Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan to bring together more than one crore citizens in the simultaneous singing of the complete version of Vande Mataram, highlighting national unity and cultural consciousness.
GHADC Executive Member Promod Koch attended the programme as Chief Guest, which brought together students, teachers and other participants at the school premises. The programme also sought to strengthen awareness of India’s cultural heritage and encourage a shared sense of national identity among the younger generation.
