Shillong, April 05: A five-a-side football extravaganza titled ‘Aircel Campus Football Tournament’ will be organised by the Shillong Lajong Football Club in association with Aircel starting from April 12 at Polo Ground.
The football tournament will traverse the length and breadth of the entire North-East region, including Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Assam.
The match which will be a two day event in each location will saw 32 teams from each State battling it out for the ultimate prize of Rs 2 lakh for the winner at the Grand Finale.
The tournament will also have a best player award, called “The Aircel Star of Lajong”, in which the best player from all the 5 States will get to travel to Shillong and stay and train with Shillong Lajong FC for a week.
For participation in Meghalaya, youngsters can contact on 9615462653 and register at Aircel Store at Siti Center, Barabazar, Shillong and at Aircel kiosks set up around various colleges.
