New Delhi May 07: Under the Scheme of Panchayat Yuva Krida aurel Abhiyan (PYKKA), introduced from 2008-09 with the objective of creating/developing basic playfields in all village Panchayats of the country in a phased manner over a period of 10 years. Under the scheme for development of playfield in the North Eastern States, a sum of Rs. 66.03 crore was released during the years 2008-09 to 2012-13 and 4726 Village Panchayats and 369 Block Panchayats were covered during this period . The state-wise details of number of Village/block panchayats covered and fund released under PYKKA scheme for development of playfields during the above mentioned period.
Under the Urban Sports Infrastructure Scheme (USIS), grant approved and released to the North Eastern States for creation/up-gradation of sports infrastructure projects in 2010-11,2011-12 & 2012-13 ( The Scheme was launched in the year 2010-11). The State-wise details showing the grant approved and released to the North Eastern States under the USIS are at Annexure-II. The infrastructure created by Sports Authority of India (SAI).
The details of sports personality who have brought Laurels to the country in International and national sports events from each of states in North Eastern Region event-wise, during last five years.
The funding pattern of various components of the PYKKA Scheme such as one-time capital grant, annual acquisition and annual operational grants is given.
The component of one time capital grant of Rs. one lakh to each Panchayat is shared in the ratio of 75:25 between the Central and States Government but for North Eastern States, it is 90:10. In other words, the Central Grant is Rs. 75,000 for normal states and it is 90,000/- for North Eastern States.
