Shillong, April 25: Science and technology has become an integral part inof our every day life.
Taking into consideration the need of the hour, the District School education officer, East Khasi Hills District organised a an annual Science Exhibition for school children of the District.
The two-day District Level Science exhibition which kick started from today was held at Anton Hall Laitumkhrah.
This year’s theme of the exhibition is “Science and Society”. Based on the theme, the exhibition aimed at encouraging students to bring about their innovative scientific ideas through science models and diagrams that will prove beneficial for the society as a whole.
Inaugurated by Retired Head of Department of Electronics of St Edmunds College, W Passah, the exhibition was actively taken part by students from 18 schools of the district.
Altogether, 31 projects were exhibited by the students.
It may be mentioned here that the program is being implemented by the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India for attraction of talent amongst students to study Science and pursue career with Research.(SP News)
