Shillong, Nov 28: Meghalaya Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma took a dig at the opposition parties saying “they should rather find more proactive role to find the right answer to the issue of influx. “
He also asserted that when UDP was in power with Congress they never discuss the issue of ILP. Accusing the opposition parties for taking political posturing, Sangma said the opposition parties are trying to influence the people that ILP is the only solution.
“They are taking political posturing and trying to influence people that ILP is the only solution,” he said.
“Three years back when I took over as Chief minister, number of times Paul Lyngdoh met me and did he not spoke about influx with so seriousness and he only talk about backwardness and unemployment,” Dr. sangma said
Meghalaya Chief Mnister Dr Mukul Sangma has welcomed the stand of the CSWO as the press groups decided not to be part of any agitations anymore, with regards to the demand of any issue.
“We welcome the stand of CSWO,” he said adding, “we urged all the pressure groups to take recourse from the trend that has been set by the CSWO.”
He said the Government has been receptive to the dialogues with anybody, he said it should be endeavour of every one to raise the issue democratically without resorting to violence even as he said that democracy provides for enough space to people to raise issues and take it to its logical conclusions.(SP News)
