The LPAI, in collaboration with Raj Bhavan, Shillong, organized a Hindi Workshop

Shillong, July 27: The Land Port Authority of India (LPAI), in collaboration with Raj Bhavan, Shillong, organized a Hindi Workshop at Raj Bhavan, Shillong. The workshop aimed to promote the use of Hindi in official day-to-day work.

The event commenced with a welcome speech by Shri R.B. Sharma, followed by the workshop conducted by Shri Pawan Kumar Kharbanda. The Hon’ble Governor of Meghalaya, Shri Phagu Chauhan.

The  GOC, 101 Area, Lieutenant General Sanjay Malik,Additional Director General of the North Eastern Region (NER) Directorate of NCC, Maj Gen Gagan Deep, senior army officials, LPAI employees and students from North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) were in attendance.

Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble Governor emphasized the importance of the Hindi language as a carrier of India’s life values, culture, and traditions. He noted that Hindi is the third most spoken language in the world and praised the literature produced in Hindi.

He appreciated the efforts of the local people of Meghalaya in promoting the Hindi language, attributing this progress to the role of central institutions in the state. He acknowledged the continuous efforts of the Government of India, under Article 351 of the Indian Constitution, for the promotion of Hindi.

Furthermore, the Hon’ble Governor commended the Indian Land Port Authority for their efforts in promoting Hindi in the North-Eastern states and expressed hope that similar programs would continue to be organized.

The main speakers for the workshop were SmtiFilmeca Marbaniang, Assistant Professor of Hindi at NEHU, and Professor H.K. Mishra, Head of the Hindi Department at NEHU. They shared their insights on the importance and practical implementation of Hindi in official communication.

The program highlighted the significance of using Hindi in administrative functions and encouraged participants to incorporate the language more extensively in their professional activities. The collaborative effort by LPAI and Raj Bhavan, Shillong, underscored the commitment to promoting Hindi in official work across the region.
