Shillong, Sept 18: North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) 17/9/2024 inaugurated ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ fortnight initiative with a ‘Swachhata Pledge’.
Swachhata Hi Sevais a world’s largest jan andolan for swachhata initiated by Govt. of India. NEIGRIHMS will observe ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ fortnight from September 17thto October 2ndwith the theme of Swabhav Swachhata – Sanskaar Swachhata.
The inaugural event of ‘Swachhata Pledge’ was graced by officiating Director, Senior Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Rapheal, and Medical Superintendent,Prof. (Dr) C. Daniala.
Faculty members of NEIGRIHMSalong with Nursing officers, Section Heads, Students and Staff of the Institute participated inthe “Swachhata Pledge”. Prof. (Dr) C. Daniala said that NEIGRIHMS is one of the cleanest Hospital in the Nation which is evident from the visitors of the Institute who have praised about the cleanliness at NEIGRIHMS.
He also appreciated the work being done by the Sanitation staff in keeping NEIGRIHMS clean and healthy.Officiating Director, Prof. (Dr) Vandana Rapheal, mentioned that NEIGRIHMS along with being clean visibly it is also actually clean of non-visible organisms which may cause infections.
She said that the Sanitation team along with the Infection Control Team have been doing great job in keeping the NEIGRIHMS healthyto reduce hospital acquired infections.
NEIGRIHMS has also organized various activities in coming days including Waste to Art Competition, community cleaning drive and health check-up camps for sanitation staff to promote the campaign.
