Ampati, Septe 29: The South West Garo Hills District Badminton Association successfully organized the 3rd Badminton Tournament, 2024, on Friday and Saturday at the Ampati Indoor Stadium. The two-day event witnessed enthusiastic participation from skilled badminton players across various categories.
The tournament featured a competitive lineup with 12 players competing in the Men’s Singles Open category, 9 teams in the Men’s Doubles Open category, and 5 players in the Under-19 Boys Singles category.
The closing ceremony was graced by Ravi K Sangma, MPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Hq), South West Garo Hills, who attended as the Chief Guest. He lauded the participants for their sportsmanship and dedication, and awarded prizes to the winners and runners-up across all categories.
In the Under-19 Boys Singles, Civilo Ch Momin defeated Pattian Ch Momin and emerged as the winner in this category. In the Men’s Singles (Open Category), Khan T Sangma became a winner by defeating Civilo Ch Momin. In the Men’s Doubles (Open Category), Eligious Sengbath G Momin and Civilo Ch Momin won the category by defeating Khan T Sangma & Francis G Momin.
