The KSU gave 15 points to the DC of EKH district on recruitment conducted by the DSC  

Shillong, Oct 23: The Employment Monitoring Cell of the Khasi Students’ Union – Central Executive Council today has hand the 15 points to the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District Smti Rosetta Mary Kurbah IAS on the recruitment process in the District Selection Committee.

The Chairman of the Employment Monitoring Cell  Mr.  Reuben Najiar they have written these  in its quest for fair and transparent recruitment in the State has examine various loop holes in the system and in this particular instance in regards to the District Selection Committees which needs urgent addressal.

Over the years, the District Selection Committees of East Khasi Hills District has been lamented with inappropriate functioning giving rise to unfitting appointments. This is injustice on the part of genuine and capable job seekers who are looking forward to serve in the government sector.

The Union has also observed that over a long period of time there was no advertisement from the DSC EKH until recently, but the appointment processes every year in different departments were carried out which is highly questionable and unethical.

The Union in this regard has come up with 15 points whereby the DSC can adopt for a swift and transparent recruitment. The Union would like to urge upon the ‘Fifteen Points Charter for District Selection Committees’ to bring about an effective transparent recruitment and an efficient system.

Appointment of sufficiently qualified Non – Official Vice Chairman and Non-Official Members of the District Selection Committees with no political affiliations.  Annual declaration of assets and liabilities by a public servant

Applicants to be domicile of Meghalaya and must know Khasi language to be able to apply for any post in DSC in Khasi and Jaintia Hills. Adhoc, Contractual,Casual appointments to be avoided.

Annual calendar including key dates for examinations to be published by the DSC. Public disclosure of marks secured by all the candidates in any examinations. Roll numbers of a candidates and any other changes not to take place in between the recruitment process.

Carbon copy of the OMR sheet to be supplied to the candidates. Released of answer key after examination and specific time frame to be given for challenging the answer key. Recruitment process to be completed within  six months from the date of advertisement.

Abolition of personal interview for Grade B, C and D. Annual report by the DSC. Question papers to be highly confidential to avoid leakage. Creation of Grievances Cell in the DSC. Computer based test for mere future.
