Shillong, Oct 30: This is for general information of all public that the road from Mawlonghat upto Bimola junction which was closed and ”No Entry” was imposed for few years has now been decided to be re-opened for vehicular traffic movement with effect from 4th November 2024 in order to ease the traffic congestion at Iewduh, Bara bazaar area.
In order to ensure smooth flow of traffic, the following revised Traffic arrangements are being made w.e.f4th November 2024:-
- No entry from Mawlonghat to Bimola junction will be lifted w.e.f 4th November 2024. Vehicles will be allowed to ply from Mawlonghat to Bimolajunction between 8 AM to 4 PM.
- The stretch from Motphran till Mawlonghat and Punjabi Lane can be converted into One Way and No Entry will be imposed from Mawlonghat towards Motphran.
- Stretch of parking from Motphran till Mawlonghat, vehicles will have to park facing towards the flow of traffic.
- Few buses parked on the Mawlonghatroad near the traffic pointwill be shifted to MUDA parking lot opposite Anjalee Cinema Hall.
- All type of vehicles including city buses, parkedfrom Mawlonghattraffic pointtowards Punjabi Lane will have to proceed towards Punjabi Lane – BimolaJn. and beyond.
- All type of vehicles parkedbeyond Mawlonghattraffic pointtowards Anjalee Cinema Hall-Old Cherra can proceed towards Old Cherra and beyond.
7 • All buses will be diverted at Grand Hotel junction towards Boucher Road and will not be allowed to proceed towards Police Bazaar.
- All SPT busses will not be allowed to proceed towards Mawlonghat from Mo bran point, but will be diverted towards Jeep Stand – District Council. tp
- There will be No Left Tum for buses at Bimola junction, however the LMVs can proceed both the directions i.e., towards Motphran and Grand Hotel,
- Vehicles proceeding from Motphran point towards Mawlonghatjunction can proceed both the directions i.e., towards Punjabi Lane and Anjalee Cinema Hall – Old Cherra point.
- No parking shall be imposed throughout the stretch starting from Mawlonghat junction till Bimolajunction (Punjabi Lane).
- Both side parking of vehicles and levying fee thereupon at the stretch of Boucher Road will not be permitted. Only one side parking will be allowed at the above[1]mentioned stretch to maintain the flow of vehicular traffic.
- No Parking will be imposed throughout the stretch of road starting from Grand Hotel, Umsohsun junction upto Motphran point. The ordwer issued by the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District Shillong.
