Shillong, Dec 01: It is very unfortunate to note that the ensuing protest by the student community of NEHU which has exceeded to more than Three weeks. It is quite disheartening and painful from our part to see how a student community had to resort to such stringent protest by fasting.
The Meghalaya Joint Council of Trade Unions & Associations expressed that such kind of unwanted situation created by the incumbent Vice- Chancellor of NEHU and protesting for the highhandedness of the controlling authority.
The Trade Union they urge upon the appropriate authority to take stock of the situation which has and will definitely hamper the career of the students.
In solidarity with the protesting student we are thereby shows our moral support and also urged our President and the State Government to look into this matter seriously the issue out of their demand that the prestige of the University may once again reach academic and administrative standards, said Mr. J L Das President and E Lynshing Genenral Secretary in the press statement.
