Shillong, Dec 6: The Annual Day Celebration of the Central Training Institute, Civil Defense .and Home Guards, Shillong, Meghalaya was held today at the Parade Ground of Civil Defense and Home Guards complex, Mawdiangdiang, Shillong. The occasion was graced by Dr. K .K. Paul, Governor of Meghalaya.
Spealting in the occasion, Dr. K. K. Paul, stated that Civil Defense and Home Guards can pky a major role in acting as eyes and ears of the administration and Government to ensure better delivery of service. He lauded their efforts in traffic control and Disaster management response. He call upon the people to be responsible citizen extend their cooperation and support.
He quoted, “every policeman is a citizen with uniform and every citizen is a policeman without uniform.” He congratulated the Parade Commander and participants of the Parade. He also congratulated the award recipients of Medals and said that that their hard work has been recognized. He added, this recognition makes one an example and source of inspiration to others to perform in a more diligent and sincere manner.
Besides the Parade other highlights of the programme included, presentation of Medals; announcements of the names of recipients of Director Generals Home Guards and Civil Defense, Meghalaya Award, a Civil Defense Demonstration and Brass Band Display.(SP News)
