The festival will celebrate the distinctive crafts, artistic practices and traditional knowledge of Meghalaya’s villages, highlighting the skills and creativity that sustain local livelihoods and preserve cultural traditions across generations.
Bringing together representatives from 11 participating villages, the festival will provide a platform for artisans and village communities to showcase their handmade products, demonstrate traditional craft-making techniques and share the stories, knowledge and cultural significance behind their work. Visitors will have an opportunity to engage with the crafts and the people who continue to practise and preserve these traditions.
Organised under the observance of Jan Jatiya Gaurav Divas, the festival also underscores the importance of recognising and celebrating the cultural heritage and contributions of indigenous communities.
