Shillong, June 2: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong, has informed the public that contrary to rumours and fake news circulating on social media concerning an alleged shortage and increase in the prices of Petrol, Diesel, the situation is being closely monitored by the District Administration, and all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the smooth availability and distribution of fuel and LPG across the district.
Citizens are advised not to believe or circulate unverified information and to refrain from panic buying or hoarding of essential fuel supplies. The public is requested to rely only on official Government communications and updates for accurate information.
The District Administration cautions that strict action will be taken against individuals found spreading false information, rumours, or misleading content that may create unnecessary panic among the public.
