Miss Agatha resigns as MLA to pave way for the Chief Minister to contest MLA Election

Shillong, July 02: The MLA of South Tura Miss Agatha K Sangma of the National People’s Party (NPP) today submitted her resignation letter to the Deputy Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Mr TD Shira in absence of the speaker Dr Donkupar Roy.

With this resignation it has pave the way for the Chief Minister Mr Conrad K Sangma to contest the MLA Election so that they could continue as the Chief Minister of Meghalaya but he has to win the election as an MLA before sixth Month as the Chief Minister if he want to continued as the Chief Minister.

Mr Conrad K Sangma was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Meghalaya to lead the collation MDA government. The resignation of Miss Agatha K Sangma today has clear the way for the Chief Minister to contest the MLA Election before September.

It is clear that Meghalaya will witness two by election before September; one is the 35-Ranikor Constituency where Mr Martin M Danggo the Congress MLA resigns  to joint NPP and the resignation of Miss Agatha today from South Tura.
