Shillong, march 05: The BJP Meghalaya State Unit in the meeting held today at the party office in Shillong, in the present of Mr Ajoy Jomuwal have decided that the party will setup candidate from both the MP seats from Meghalaya, 1-Shillong and 2-Tura Parliamentary Constituency.
This was announced today by the BJP State President Mr Shibun Lyngdoh after the meeting at the party office in Shillong. Though the BJP is part of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) in the state government but the party will setup candidate in this upcoming MP election in Meghalaya.
The party have been waited for the MDA Government to come out with the consensus candidate but till date could not finalizes, but it seem that the party UDP will go to contest this upcoming MP elelction where they have projected Dr Jemino Mawthoh as the candidate.
The BJP as the national party, though they are working together in the MDA government in the state, but as a party they have to contest this coming MP election from both the two seat that is Shillong and Tura. This decision was taken today at the party meeting.
Meghalaya Health Minister Mr AL Hek, said that the party will constituted the election committee, they will meet the national president Mr Amit Shah and other central party leaders on the decision that they have taken today to contest the MP election from both the seats in Meghalaya.
