Shillong, July 14: The Block Development officer of the Selsella C&RD Block has submitted the detail report to the Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills District on the numbers of villages affected by flashed flood.
According to the report of the Block Development officer from Selsella C&RD Block the numbers of villages that were affected in this flashed flood are 12846 houses and the numbers of people affected are 66,431.
The Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills District inform that due to the incessant rain and back water from the Brahmaputra that caused flood in the plain belt ares of West Garo Hills District.
The two C&RD Block that were affected are Selsella and Demdema, the numbers of villages affected by floods are 140 villages and about 1,10, 000 people were affected. From the District administration, emergency services has pressed into services, SDRF along with the District administration are evacuating people to safer palaces.
The General relief and others essentials commodities will be provided to the affected people as per norms. From the District Administration has set up tem relief camps for the affected people. In this floods few Health Centers, School and others institutions are also under water.
