Shillong, Sept 16: The Border Security Force, Shillong organized ‘Hindi Diwas’ on 16th Sept 2018 with the aim to promote Hindi official language.
The event was conducted at BSF Frontier Headquarter, Umpling, Shillong, where in officers and men of various Headquarter under Frontier HQ Shillong participated. Hindi is one of the most spoken languages in most parts of the country. People clearly understand and express their views in Hindi language which is deep rooted in the society.
During the fortnight long celebration, Quiz, Noting and drafting, essay writing and typing competitions in Hindi were organizedas per the directions of Govt. of India, Ministry of Home Affairs.
Mr Ajai Singh DIG and Principal Staff Officer, President of Rajbhasha Hindi Committee distributed prizes to the BSF personnel who obtained first, second and third positions in various competitions and congratulated them.
This language also presents our cultural identity. DIG, Principal Staff Officer requested all Officers and Subordinate Officers and other ranks to promote and encouraged others to work in Hindi as it is our constitutional obligation also.
