Shillong, Oct 30: The Association is very happy to inform that one of the Karatekas Miss Wandahunshisha Mawblei has been selected to represent the country in the coming 5th South Asian Karate Championship 2019 to be held at Dhaka, Bangladesh from 7th – 9th November, 2019.
She will be participating in the Girl’s Cadet Individual Kumite -54Kg. Wandashisha has been selected based on her performance in the KAI Cadet, Junior & U-21 National Karate Championship, 2019 which was held in Guwahati, Assam.
Mr Donboklang Lyngdoh, State Coach has also been appointed as National Assistant Coach for the said Championship. They will be leaving for Dhaka from Guwahati on the 6th October, 2019 via Kolkata and will join the National Team.The Association wishes both of them the best.
The All Meghalaya Karate-Do Association will be organizing its 28th State Karate Championship 2019 at Indoor Sports Hall, JN Sports Complex, Polo Ground, Shillong on the 1st & 2nd November 2019. Shri Joe Marwein and Shri Banri P.F. Lyndoh, Senior Karatekas be the Chief Guest during the Opening and Closing Ceremony.
Medal winners from this Championship will be selected to represent the State in the coming North East National Karate Championship and KAI National Karate Championship to be held during December 2019 & January, 2020.
