Shillong, Nov 13: In a series of raids conducted in last three days to detect the supply of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in the district, joint teams of ANTF East Jaintia Hills, Khliehriat Police Station and Ladrymbai Out Post recovered approximately 45 gms Heroin.
In first raid on 11th November 2019, the team recovered 4.23 gms Heroin from a car bearing registration number ML-10A-4268 at Moopala and arrested four persons namely Kyrshan Syrti, Trusty Latam, Ferdinand Pale and Chanmi Patwet.
On the raid conducted on 12th November 2019, the team recovered 1.48 gms Heroin from the possession of one person named Sanjit Singha travelling in a tourist taxi bearing registration number ML-04A-4819 at Byndihati and on the same day in the evening, the team recovered 34.29 gms Heroin from a car bearing registration number AS-24A-1861 at Moopala and arrested two persons namely Sabul Uddin and Aftab Uddin.
In another raid conducted this morning, the team recovered 4.15 gms Heroin from a house in Ladrymbai Dongwah Pohktieh and arrested the owner of the house namely Smt. Chales Myrchiang. Separate cases have been registered for all the above-mentioned recoveries and investigation is going on.
The East Jaintia Police is thankful to the members of the civil society who assisted us in these recoveries. It is our continued endeavour to enforce the NDPS Act in the district as strictly as possible. We would again like to appeal to everyone to come forward and assist us with real time information so that we can completely check this menace.
