Shillong, March 05: Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria PVSM AVSM VM ADC, Chief of the Air Staff Indian Air Force accompanied by Mrs Asha Bhadauria, President AFWWA visited Headquarters Eastern Air Command (EAC) at Shillong from 04 to 05 Mar 20 for the annual Commanders’ Conference.
They were received by Air Marshal R D Mathur PVSM AVSM VSM ADC, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, EAC and Mrs Shipra Mathur, President AFWWA (Regional).
In his address, the CAS congratulated the Eastern Air Command for completion of 60 years of glorious service to the nation. During the conference, the CAS highlighted the operational importance of EAC and emphasised upon the need to concentrate on operational training and operational readiness tailored towards a quick and effective response to a rapidly changing threat scenario.
The CAS awarded trophies to the Commanders for achieving excellence in the fields of Operations, Maintenance and Administration. Air Force Station Tezpur was awarded the trophy of ‘Best Flying Station – Pride of EAC’ and Air Force Station Laitkor Peak was declared the ‘Best Non-Flying Station’.
During the conference, Mrs Asha Bhadauria, President AFWWA reviewed various welfare activities undertaken for the welfare of Sanginis and their families in Eastern Air Command. Mrs Asha Bhadauria also interacted with the Sanginis and wives of Defence Service Corps personnel during a specially organised meeting.
