Shillong, April 08: Health and Family welfare Department Government of Meghalaya today has issue twelve point protocol to be follow by truck drivers and handyman at the entry point. In view of COVID-19 Pandemic there is an urgent need to put in place a protocol for truck drivers and handyman entering the state for transporting essential commodities.
The twelve points that was issued from the Health department, Truck will have to be disinfected at the entry point. At the entry point driver and handyman will be Scand. The drivers and handyman will be provided with mask and hand sanitizer.
At the entry point all truck should be register, full name, address, contact number, travel history for the last 14 days and weather having any symptoms fever, cough or breathing difficulty.
At the entry point they should have provided the detail purpose of entry along with destination and date of departure. They should provide the name of the owner and agency. The drivers and handyman to carry along with them packaged food and no stoppages should be allowed except in extreme circumstances.
The drivers and handyman should not come out from their vehicles except when they need to use washroom which is available in petrol pump. Petrol pump are to ensure that washroom are kept clean condition with enough bleaching powder and running water.
Drivers and handyman should stay at identified place in case they required to stay for the night and to inform authorities concern accordingly. For loading and un loading commodities agency should concern should made arrangement for the local labour available to assist them.
They are to maintain hand hygiene caught etiquette and social distancing. IEC materials in Hindi and Khasi are to be handed over to driver and handyman for Constance reference.
