BSF in Meghalaya carry on COVID-19 Campaign by providing relief materials to 100 villagers

Shillong, May 03: With the country under complete lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus, many border villagers along the Indo-Bangladesh border have been adversely affected.

The BSF ever since the lockdown in Meghalaya they took the initiative of providing relief material to these needy people residing in bordering areas. In the past few days several such campaign were carried out in various parts of the State.

Recently Mr  Kuldeep Saini, IG BSF Ftr Meghalaya accompanied by other BSF officials distributed essentials items to 100 villagers and Nukmas of village Phanda, Haripur, Agachikona and 50 families of Village Durbetta, Adhachipara, Bonbera and patlabon South Garo Hills.

Continuing its distribution and donation of relief materials to the border population on 01st May 2020, relief material was distributed to 40 villagers of village Barsora South West Khasi Hills.

In another such event Sh U K Nayal DIG/PRO ftr Meghalaya along with other BSF officials carried out a relief campaign to 60 families of village Jaliakhola and Sanghat West Jaintia Hills. During the campaign fodder was provided to about 1000 stranded seized cattle at Muktapur.

The relief materials include Rice, dal, wheat flour, R/oil, milk, salt, vegetables and sanitizing items like face mask, hand sanitizer, hand wash etc. Border Security Force the ‘First line of Defence’ is not only committed to securing and safeguarding the borders but is also taking all steps to educate and help the border populace in such a time of crisis.
