Shillong, June 23: The Chancellor of the CMJ University Chandra Mohan Jha knocks at the door of the president of India for redress of the grievances of the University.
Mr Jha has sent a letter to the president of India informing about the action taken by the visitor of the university the governor of Meghalaya Mr Ranjit Shekhar Mooshahery. The action of the Visitor has not only imperiled. the very existence of the University but also placed in jeopardy the career of thousands of students who are pursuing their degrees from the University from the past 3 years.
In the letter the chancellor of the university has give detail statement about the CMJ University since the inception till these problems crops up. For the last three years series of communication from the Visitor was went more surprising considering that the Visitor in the past 3 years refused to have any contact or communication with the University despite numerous request and invitations from the University to grace its premises and c a m p us with his august presence.
Since then, through a series of unfortunate events precipitated by the Visitor’s FIR filed with The State CID on 2th April, 2013 for inquiry into the affairs of the University and his 30/4/2013 letter, the University was first sealed and then a posse of policemen deployed on the campus of the University and then lucked from inside to plant incendiary evidence against the CM J University.
In this letter sent to the president of India Mr Jha said that in Meghalaya there are ten private university but why the visitor is targeting only CMJ University and the timing that the governor has chosen is at the end of his tenure . Mr Jha said that the action will only damage the higher education and set a dangerous precedent in the country.
Mr Jha has also sent a copy of the letter to others fifteen influential political and burocrats who where in the central government for imformation, these include ,Honourable Prime Minister, Honourable Vice President , Honourable HRD Minister, Honourable Home Minister, Honourable Law Minister, Honourable Finance Minister , Cabinet Secretary, Home Secretary, Honourable Speaker of Lok Sabha , Madam Sonia Gandhi, Chairperson UPA and AlCC President, Mr Raj Nath Singh, BJP President, Chairman, UGC, the copy was also sent to the Governor of Meghalaya,The Chief Minister of Meghalaya and education minister of Meghalaya.(SP News)
