N.F Railway to introduce passenger special train between Kamakhya and Murkongselek

Maligaon, Sept 26: The Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to introduce another passenger special train between Kamakhya and Murkongselek w.e.f. 1^st October, 2020. Introduction of this special train will enable passengers from a vast part of Assam to avail the facility of train travel to various parts of the country.

The train 05613 Kamakhya – Murkongselek passenger special will leave from Kamakhya at 08-30 pm daily via Rangiya, Rangapara North, Harmuti, North Lakhimpur, Dhemaji and Silapather to reach Murkongselek at 07-45 am next day.

During return journey 05614 Murkongselek – Kamakhya passenger special train will leave Murkongselek 07-15 pm every day w.e.f. 1^st October 2020 to reach Kamakhya at 07-05 am next day. The train will have AC 2 tier, AC 3 tier, sleeper class and general second class facilities.

The train will have stoppages at 24 stations during its journey in between Kamakhya and Murkongselek. There will be no unreserved coaches.

Passengers must download Aarogya Setu App, and strictly observe social distancing both at the station and on trains. Wearing of face covers at the entry and during travel is a must. Only asymptomatic passengers with confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter the Railway station/board the train.

It may be mentioned here that all regular passenger train services on Indian Railways including Premium trains, Mail, Express trains, Passenger trains services, Narrow gauge train services were suspended in the wake of COVID-19 since the last week of March.

In NFR area presently 11 pairs of special trains are presently in operation. These are:
