Shillong, Nov 17: The Members of the Meghalaya State Commission for Women under the leadership of Smti. Theilin Phanbuh called on the Director General of Police, Meghalaya Shri. R. Chandranathan, IPS today discuss regarding cases received by the Commission in which members of the police force are respondents of the cases.
During the interaction, the members of the Commission also suggested that sensitization programmes for police officials should be conducted on a regular basis and necessary steps should be initiated to avert and resolve such incidents.
Smti. I. Nongrang, IPS Addl. Director General of Police (L&O/TAP), who was also present during the discussion avowed that numerous training programmes pertaining to sensitizing of police force have been conducted in the past, and similar trainings will also be organized in the days to come.
