Any Positive persons violating the isolation period, action will be taken as per the  MEDR, 1920

Shillong, April 26: The Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District said that, it has come to the notice of the undersigned that there are some persons tested positive who do not maintain the 10(ten) day mandatory period of home isolation.

Further, some persons who have tested COVID-19 positive are stepping out of their homes and or go for repeat testing in other health facilities even before the expiry of the 10 (ten) day period.

In doing so, they are putting everyone they meet including their family, health workers and other general public at risk by breaking the protocol of home isolation. Guidelines of the Health and Family Welfare Department as per No. Health.100/2020/64, Dated 24/08/2020 states that any person tested positive shall have to undergo 10(ten) day isolation.

Hence, any positive persons found stepping out and violating the mandatory isolation period will be taken action against under the provision of the Meghalaya Epidemic Disease Regulations, 2020.

Incident Commanders along with area Medical Officer and with the assistance of CCMT will take steps to ensure proper home isolation of all positive persons so that the virus is contained. Health & Family Welfare protocols for management of asymptomatic and mild symptomatic cases under home quarantine may be followed.
