Shillong, May 27 : The KSU today has sent memorandum to the Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah Government of India demanding that person who involved in rape as appear in the video of the girls that viral on social media, where the girl was tortured and murdermurder be arrested and punished as per law.
In the memorandum the Khasi Students’ Union (Delhi Unit) would like to bring to the notice on the Union Government about a horrifying viral video clip which is making rounds on the internet of a girl who is seen getting beaten up, assaulted, abused and brutally shoved with a liquor glass bottle into her private parts without being shown any remorse and with aghast inhumanity by a group of ruffians and where claims have been made that the victim hail from the NorthEast.
The KSU hereby condemn the inhuman and atrocious act committed by them and demand that the culprits are to be caught and booked under the following act and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, Section 326A- Voluntarily causing grievous hurt by use of acid, etc. Section 354- Assault or Criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty.
The KSU also mention that Section 354A- Sexual Harrassment and Punishment for Sexual Harrassment. Section 354B- Assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe, Section 354C- Voyeurism, Section 509- Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a women Additionally, the viral video also comes within the ambit of the following sections of the Information Technology Act, 2000, Section 66E- Punishment for violation of Privacy, Section 67- Punishment for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form, Section 67A- Punishment for publishing or transmitting of material containing sexually explicit act, etc. in electronic form.
As the representatives of Khasi Students’ Union (Delhi Unit) , request the concerned police authorities to look into it with the utmost urgency furthering the cause of justice and also putting an end to such gruesome violence against women.
