The BSF extends a hand of care to the old aged

 

 

Shillong, July 25: As an innate respect to the elderlies and a concern for their welfare the Border Security Force once again extended a hand of welcome, care and friendship. Shri B.D.Sharma,IPS, Additional Director General alongwith Shri Sudesh Kumar, IPS, Inspector General BSF Meghalaya Ftr, Senior members of BWWA (BSF Wives Welfare Association) BSF Doctors and other Officers visited the Old Age Home and  distributed the spectacles to the inmates requiring the visual aids at  the Sisters of Charity, Holy Child, Old Age Home at Domthering, Shillong.

Border Security Force had organised a free eye check-up for the old aged and promised to provide the visual aids to the needy. In the past BSF had also organised a free medical health check up camp for reaching out to the requirements of health issues of the much needy and mostly abandoned people of Shillong.

ADG BSF showed great sense of belongingness and care for the senior citizens and staff of the OLD AGE HOME and appreciated the efforts made for the noble cause. The  initiative taken by the BSF Meghalaya Ftr under the leadership of Shri Sudesh Kumar, IPS, Inspector General was largely appreciated by the Addl DG BSF. He reiterated that there is a requirement of rendering more care, support and concern to these Veterans and was personally interested in extending the co-operation by providing the best of helping hand whatever shall be possible as such initiatives help in building a strong society .

The occasion marked a wonderful and blissful association of the Border Security Force with the members of OLD AGE HOME. The ceremony closed with refreshment and gifts shared and extended in a bundle of warmth and assurance that we as the members of the Border Security Force always stand for you and stand by you for your safe, secure and healthy lives.
