Shillong, Sept 30: Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, Hon’ble Minister of State for Law & Justice, Government of India on 30.09.2021 undertook field visit and interacted with citizens and some of implementing Centres which are either beneficiaries or recipients of various Central Schemes that includes Corona Vaccination Centres, Health Insurances, etc.
The filed visit is to find out how the citizens are deriving them and benefited from these Schemes. He was also accompanied by the Officers of the Line Departments, Agencies implementing the Central Scheme.
The Minister has also obtained and assessed overall feedback from the beneficiaries of various schemes as well from the implementing officials. The followings are the several sites,schemes that the Minister of State for Law & Justice, visited within Shillong town area.
The Union MoS he visited the Health Dispensary at Rynjah, Shillong in the presence of officials, doctors, and nurses of the Dispensary with regard to the Covid vaccination centers and the beneficiaries of the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY.
There is no complaint whatsoever from the patients who are coming for treatment. Separate section for treatment is being kept for level 1 Covid patient and level 2 patients in the Dispensary.
The Minister thereafter visited one of the beneficiaries of the MHIS (State Scheme), at R & R Colony (Rynjah, Shillong) and had a brief interaction. House visit to one of the beneficiaries of the MHIS (State Scheme).
Thereafter he visited the beneficiaries of Swach Bharat Mission at Umpling, Shillong. The Hon’ble Minister visited the residences of the beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Scheme(PMUY) at Nongmensong, Shillong where he interacted with them.
He also visited the house at Umpling of one of the beneficiaries under Prime Minister AwasYojana (PMAY) Urban Meghalaya. As per her (beneficiary’s) interaction with the Minister she expressed her concern about the scheme as she had only received Rs. 60,000.00 out of Rs. 1,50,000.00. She was very glad to be included in the scheme of PMAY and look forward to receive the remaining amount. Her total cost of building the house is Rs. 7.00 lakh.
The MoS also Visit Law to Umpling Waste Recovery Center. The Minister visited the Waste Recovery Center constructed by the Shillong Municipal Board under Swachh Bharat Mission and interacted with the beneficiaries of the project.
The Center is a localized waste processing center and is operated by the local youths who were earlier involved in collection and transportation of waste. In the Waste Recovery Center, the bio-degradable waste is converted into compost using indigenous methods and the recyclables are sorted and sold.
The Minister also interacted with the students of Martin Luther Christian University and Indian Institute of Public Service who are interns with the SMB at the Waste processing center.
