New Delhi, Dec 20: DoT NE LSA unit will organize next virtual meet on PM-WANI on December 28, 2022 at 11:30hrs for increased awareness of all existing and prospective stakeholders.
The Union Cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved the proposal of Department of Telecom (DoT) to proliferate Broadband through Public Wi-Fi networks under the framework of the Prime Minister’s Wi-Fi Access Network Interface (PM-WANI).
The PM-WANI framework facilitates ease of doing business and encourages local shops and small establishments to become Wi-Fi Hotspot providers Public Data Office (PDO).
The local shops and small establishments as PDOs may earn extra income from selling internet without any requirement of license, registration and/or any fees to DoT.
Interested existing/prospective PDOs,PDOAs,Citizens may submit their willingness to join along with suggestions, feedback at email ID adett.nelsa-dot@gov.in in this regard. Link for the virtual meeting will be shared with all interested participants in due course.
