Mairang, Jan 25: In view of the General Elections to the State Legislative Assembly of Meghalaya, the District Magistrate, Eastern West Khasi Hills District, Mairang in an order issued under Section 144 CrPC has prohibited the use of more than three vehicles by any intended contesting candidate during filing of nomination papers.
It was also prohibited assembly of more than five persons and more than three vehicles within a radius of 100 metres from the office of the District Magistrate, Eastern West Khasi Hills District, Mairang during the period of filing of nomination papers.The order was necessitated in order to prevent overcrowding which might affect the normal flow of vehicles.
