The MSRLS celebrate the 77th Independence Day along with Banks operating in the state

Shillong, Nailar 15: On the occasion of the 77th Independence Day, Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Society (MSRLS) in collaboration with the major Banks operating in the state has undertaken a Campaign on Self Help Group (SHG) Bank Linkage starting fromJune 2023 to improve the credit linkages of SHGs in the State.

MSRLS Districts and Block Units worked jointly with the Branch Managers of the Banks and facilitated credit linkages to 2200 Nos of SHGs amounting toRs 45 Crores. The cheques to SHGs wereissuedacross all the 12 Districts during the Independence Day celebration.

At State level, the Controlling Heads of the 3 major Banks, the AGM-Region I and SLBC Convenor State Bank of India (SBI), the General Manager Meghalaya Rural Bank (MRB), and MD Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank sanctioned Bank loan the cumulative nos. of  2200 SHGs amounting to ₹ 45 Crores.

The cheques were handed over to Ch Ramakrishan, IAS Joint Secretary, Finance Department and CEO of MSRLSand Shri. Ronald Kynta, COO MSRLS at Main Secretariat, Shillong with a commitment to release the loan to all the eligible SHGs.
