Shillong, Oct 02:The National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled (erstwhile VRC), a subordinate office under Directorate General of Employment (DGE), Ministry of Labour and Employment Govt. of India.
Shillong has been working for the welfare of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) through counseling, evaluation, imparting non-formal vocational training, rehabilitation and other outreach activities in order to bring them into the mainstreams model of development since inception of this centre in the state of Meghalaya.
This Centre had conducted Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) programme from 15th September 2023 to 2nd October 2023 and performed different activities like cleanliness of office premises, residential areas, parks, road side, electronic items, community mobilization through special campaign, shramdaan, weeding of files, skit play, essay and quiz competition etc with the active participation of employees, trainees, school students and community members.
Last but not the least, the prize distribution ceremony for different competitions was held and Swachhata pledge was taken by all the participants on 2nd October 2023 to maintain cleanliness under Swachha Bharat Abhiyan 3.0, which is to be conducted from 3rd October up to 31st October, 2023.
