Shillong, December 03: Home Missions School, Aizawl, emerged as Champions in the U-19 boys’ age category of the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS) after playing out a 2-2 draw game with St. Joseph HSS who needed a win against Home Missions School to secure top league position in the last match of the Final 4 League on November 30, Thursday.
Mr. Rochhingpuia feel so grateful and delighted to be the champion within the state, he thank the organisers for giving them and the boys the opportunity to compete in this kind of competition and he wish them lots of strength and prosperity in the upcoming days to continue this kind of tournament.
This will bring into the development of their skills and discipline in football, especially for the participants. Thanks to the Reliance team and all the participants in this tournament too, Home Missions School head coach Rochhingpuia said after the victory.
Presbyterian English Higher Secondary School won by 4-2 against their Lunglei counterpart Govt, Higher Secondary, Lunglei to secure the third-place amongst the U-19 boys. In the U-19 girls’ league, Springfield HSS played out a 1-1 draw and maintained pole position against Mount Carmel School based on superior goal difference.
