Shillong, December 08: On completion of the trial in the Ld. court of the Special Judge (POCSO), Shillong, Shri M. Kumar the accused namely Dresstar Kurbah was found guilty for the offences and passed the judgement dated 06.12.2023 sentencing him to undergo rigorous imprisonment (RI) for a period of 20 (twenty) years with fine of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand) only.
On 2/11/2021 an FIR was received at Mawlai PS informing that a 15yrs old girl had been raped by the alleged accused, Shri Dresstar Kurbah sometime in the month of June 2021.
Accordingly a case was registered vide Mawlai PS Case No. 68(11)2021 U/S 5(j)(ii)/6 POCSO Act and investigated into by WP/Sub-Inspector Lavinia S Kongwang. On completion of the investigation the case was charge sheeted against the above named accused vide CS No. 1/2022 dt. 12.01.2022.
