Shillong, December 20: The 172 Battalion of BSF Meghalaya organized a Free Medical Camp as part of its Civic Action Programme at BOP Umkiang under the East Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya.
Mr. Suresh Singh, 2IC/Offg.Commandant 172 Bn, along with esteemed medical professionals, including Dr. Monojit Kulabhi, CMO(SG), Dr.N.G Kiningbabe Hau, AC (MO), and Dr. Valera Pasi, AC (MO) of 4 & 110 Bn BSF respectively and local villagers graced the occasion with their presence.
During the camp, doctors from BSF conducted health checkups of more than 400 needy villagers of bordering villages Umkiang, Dona and Kuliang. Additionally, free medicines were also distributed among needy villagers.
The gesture was met with heartfelt appreciation from the residents of the bordering villages. They also expressed their gratitude for the proactive initiative taken by the 172 Bn BSF in organizing a medical camp in a remote location.
