Shillong, Oct 31: A two-day training programme on “Incident Response System” (IRS) for Sub Division and Block Level officials of East Khasi Hills District was inaugurated today by Smti M. War Nongbri, Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills & Chairperson District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), East Khasi Hills.
The inaugural function was also attended by Shri M. B. Tongper, Additional Deputy Commissioner & CEO, DDMA, East Khasi Hills District, Smti P. Lyngba, DDMO, East Khasi Hills among others. The training was organized by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), East Khasi Hills at the Conference hall, Office of the Deputy Commissioner Shillong.
In her brief address, Smti War, said that the training was conducted to familiarize the members of the Incident Response Teams (IRT) about their role and responsibilities based on the Incident Response System (IRS) for quick and effective response as a team during any disaster.
The resource person for the two day training progamme includes Shri P. Shylla, Deputy Controller, Civil Defence, Smti P. Lyngba, DDMO and Shri S. Bordoloi, DM, Consultant.
The topics for the two day training includes background overview of Incident Response System, Principles and Features of IRS, steps to conduct Mock Drill, Organisation and Staffing, Incident facilities and how the Emergency Response will get activated, Resource Management and Uses of Different Forms and Table Top Exercise.
