Ampati, Sept 06: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), South West Garo Hills, Ampati, has invited all eligible persons and households who do not presently possess a Ration Card to apply for a new Ration Card for inclusion under the Public Distribution System (PDS).
The notification, issued on August 26, 2026, stated that eligible applicants can apply for a new Ration Card through both online and offline modes, as per the prescribed procedure.
Applicants are required to approach their nearest Fair Price Shop (FPS) and submit the necessary documents and details for verification and further processing. Concerned officials and FPS dealers have been directed to facilitate the application process and disseminate the information among eligible households in their respective areas.
Eligible members of the public can also apply online through the Meghalaya Smart PDS portal at ml.smartpds.nic.in. The initiative aims to ensure that all eligible households are brought under the PDS and are able to access the benefits entitled to them under the food distribution system.
All eligible households without a Ration Card are therefore encouraged to make use of this opportunity and submit their applications at the earliest.
