Shillong October 31: The BSF was kept alert after getting specific input, BSF troops of BOP Nokchi Ex-114 Bn deployed in West Garo Hills distt of Meghalaya, apprehended two Bangladeshi illegal immigrants near BP no. 1105/2-s, while they were trying to infiltrate into India through hume pipe.
The two Bangladeshi illegal immigrants were identified as Utpal Koch(19 yrs), s/o Jonindro Koch and Janoraj Koch(18 yrs), s/o Jenendro Koch both r/o Vill- Rangtia, Ps- Jenaighati, Distt- Sherpur (Bangladesh). During search, the party recovered the following items from their possession the BSF get Bangladesh currency, mobile phone,
During preliminary questioning, the apprehended illegal immigrants revealed that they were going to the Coal mines near Nongalbibra, distt. South Garo Hills.
In another incident, BSF troops of BOP Gasuapara ex-132 BN deployed in South Garo Hills distt of Meghalaya, apprehended two more Bangladeshi illegal immigrants near BP no. 1123/5-s, while they were trying to infiltrate into India from Bangladesh. They were identified as Thansur Ch Marak(16 yrs), s/o Kabir Ch Sangma r/o Vill- Chandra Kura from their possession the BSF get Indian currency of Rs 2800 and Bangladesh currency 274 Taka.
During preliminary questioning, Thansur Ch Marak revealed that he was going to meet his father, who is residing in Tura, distt West Garo Hills for the last two years.
Apprehended persons and seized items are being handed over to concerned department for further disposal and legal action as per law of the land.(SP News )
