BJP Meghalaya state unit to organised month long programme ‘Resolve to Serve’

Shillong, Sept 15: The Bharatiya Janata Party, Meghalaya, will organise a month-long programme, “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan – Resolve to Serve,” to mark 25 years of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s journey in public service, beginning with his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001.

This nationwide programme is a celebration of the Prime Minister’s remarkable commitment to public service and nation-building. For the BJP Meghalaya, it is also an opportunity to translate that spirit of seva into meaningful activities that benefit communities across the State.

The month-long observance will commence on 17 September, the Prime Minister’s birthday, and continue until 17 October. 7 October will be a particularly significant day, marking 25 years since Shri Narendra Modi entered public office in 2001.

The BJP Meghalaya will organise a series of programmes during this period, focusing on service, social responsibility, youth participation, health, the environment and appreciation of frontline workers.

Major programmes includes; On 17 September, from 6:00 PM onwards, BJP workers and supporters across Meghalaya will participate in “Light the Candle of Blessing.” The programme will symbolise the people’s appreciation and blessings for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and acknowledge his dedication to the service of the nation. The party appeal to citizens and BJP karyakartas to participate in this programme and collectively express our commitment to the ideals of service and nation-building.

An interschool drawing competition will be organised at the district level on 26 September, providing schoolchildren an opportunity to express their ideas and aspirations for India through art. The competition will encourage creativity among students while also fostering their understanding of the country’s development and the importance of contributing to society.

As part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, the BJP Meghalaya will felicitate Anganwadi and ASHA workers across various centres. These frontline workers play an invaluable role in reaching essential health, nutrition and welfare services to communities, particularly women and children. Their contribution often takes place quietly at the grassroots, and this programme is an expression of our gratitude for their dedicated service.

The BJP will organise blood donation camps and health camps at different locations across the State. These initiatives are intended to promote voluntary blood donation, create awareness about health and encourage our party workers and citizens to participate directly in activities that can save lives and support communities.

Environmental responsibility will form another important component of the campaign. BJP workers and volunteers will undertake tree plantation programmes at suitable locations across Meghalaya. The initiative will encourage citizens, particularly young people, to participate in protecting and strengthening our environment for future generations.

As a reflection of the Swachh Bharat spirit and the larger philosophy of seva, cleanliness and community cleaning drives will be conducted at various locations. Our objective is not merely to organise a one-day activity, but to encourage a sustained culture of cleanliness, civic responsibility and community participation.

The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is ultimately about taking the message of public service from the political platform to the grassroots. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public service represent a long journey of commitment to the people and to the nation. The best way for us to commemorate this milestone is not simply through celebrations, but by serving society and making a positive difference in the lives of people around us.

Through these programmes, BJP Meghalaya will seek to involve our karyakartas, students, health workers, women, youth and citizens from across the State in a collective effort towards seva, social responsibility and nation-building.

The party appeal to all BJP karyakartas and members of the public to participate wholeheartedly in the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan and make this month-long campaign a meaningful tribute to 25 years of public service. Seva is our resolve. Service to the nation is our commitment.
