Block-Level community interaction programme under CM Connect held at Ampati

Ampati, July 25, 2024: The District Administration of South West Garo Hills successfully organized a block-level community interaction programme at Ampati Mini Stadium, South West Garo Hills on Thursday under the CM Connect initiative.

This event, with a tagline, “We Listen, We Resolve, We Deliver”, was graced by the presence of Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, who engaged directly with the citizens to listen to their grievances and address their concerns.

The programme saw active participation from department heads and district officials of various line departments, who were on hand to respond to citizens’ questions and grievances. Issues discussed ranged from road conditions, water supply, irregular power supply, and education, among others.

The Chief Minister Conrad Sangma took the opportunity to resolve several issues on the spot. For certain grievances, necessary cheques were handed over to beneficiaries.

In other cases, the Chief Minister assured the citizens that he would further study the issues to find appropriate solutions. It was noted that some issues, such as the pending construction of waiting sheds, were due to beneficiaries not following up.

The Chief Minister Sangma emphasized that CM Connect is an ongoing initiative, encouraging citizens to continue voicing their concerns through the dedicated helpline number 1971.

He urged government officials to demonstrate serious commitment to resolving issues, which he believes will significantly improve the community’s wellbeing. The Chief Minister also expressed his gratitude to the officials for their clear communication and dedication to public service.

In a gesture of support for local communities, cheques amounting to Rs 3.20 Cr were distributed to women community members, village organizations, and self-help groups. Additionally, agriculture response vehicles under the CM Elevate programme were handed over to six individuals from different districts of Garo Hills.

Distinguished guests included A T Mondal, Minister of Power; MLAs of Salmanpara, Mahendraganj, and Rangsakona, Ian Botham Sangma, Sanjay Sangma, and Subir Marak; and MDC of Boldamgre Stevie Marak.

The CM Connect Meghalaya, an initiative by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, aims to foster direct communication and engagement between the government and the citizens. It provides a platform for residents to share their concerns, suggestions, and feedback directly with the Chief Minister’s office.

This initiative seeks to enhance transparency, accountability, and public participation in governance, ensuring that the government’s policies and actions align closely with the needs and aspirations of the people.

Additionally, CM Connect offers a dedicated helpline number, 1971, for citizens to express their concerns and grievances, ensuring timely and effective responses.
