BSF organised Civic Action Programme for the border villages at Dawki and Muktapur

Shillong, February 23:  Demonstrating its commitment towards welfare of border communities, 4th Bn BSF Meghalaya organized a Civic Action Programme and a free medical camp at Dawki and Muktapur village in the West Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya.

The initiative aimed to enhance the well-being of the population residing along the Indo-Bangladesh border by providing essential supplies and medical assistance. During the programme, BSF Meghalaya distributed medicines and essential items to the underprivileged villagers from bordering areas, including Dawki, Bakur, Riahjalong, Lakroh, Hawai Sutnga, Hartoli, Muktapur, and Hawai Bhoi. More than 250 local villagers from these areas availed the benefits of the Civic Action Programme and medical camp.

As part of the outreach initiative, stationery items, sports equipment, school bags, and water tanks were distributed to students of various schools in the border region. In addition, medicines were provided to the needy villagers in the medical camp, ensuring access to basic healthcare facilities.

This initiative reflects BSF Meghalaya’s unwavering dedication in serving the border population and fostering goodwill among local communities. BSF remains committed in safeguarding the nation’s borders while actively contributing to the welfare and development of the people residing in remote and border areas.
