Shillong, Feb 1: The Executive Magistrate of East Khasi Hills District has registered a case against members of nongmynsong dorbar including headman, executive members besides members of the women’s organisation (Seng Longkmie) for involving in creating disruption in the smooth functioning of the coming Assembly election.
It was learnt that Executive Magistrate of East Khasi Hills District, U N. Hajong had registered a case under Cr Case No. 37(A) of 2013 under section 107 CrPC dated 25-01-13 against the g headman of NongmynsongB. Khonglah,Rangbah Dong Umkdait R Shanpru, member Dong Umkdait Moses Synrem,President Seng Longkmie Nongmensong Aplinda Nongrum, General Secretary Seng Longkmie Nongmensong Misdrop Mawkhiew, Vice President Seng Longkmie Nongmensong P. Nongpluh and President KSU Nongmensong unit Joshua Nongrum for creating disturbances of the upcoming assembly election.
Expressing surprised and agony over the charge levelled against the locality members, the Nongmensong Youth Development Organisation (NYDO) in a press statement issued here on Friday stated that the headman besides other members of the dorbar shnong were carrying on with their duties and responsibilities to look after the safety and security of the locality and not as being alleged that they were involved in any disruption.(SP News)
