Ampati, May 09: The Deputy Commissioner of South West Garo Hills District imposed night curfew along the international border with Bangladesh from 8.00 pm to 6.00 Am in the morning with 200 meters from the zero line.
In the order stated that in view of the current situation in the Country there is likelihood of cross border movement along the International Border with Bangladesh by the unwanted elements including people, members of proscribed militants groups, smugglers and any other illegal activities on Indo- Bangladesh Border.
Whereas, the bordering area in South West Garo Hills District is prone to infilration by illegal migrants of organized crime having linkage to anti-national elements including militants’ group such that the anti-national elements could gather in large numbers near the international Border during the night hours to continue their nefarious activities.
Whereas, I am of the opinion that such illegal, undesirable activities should be prevented in order to maintain peace and tranquility in the District, State and the Country as one.
Now, therefore, “I, Smt. Hema Nayak, IAS, District Magistrate, South West Garo Hills District, Ampati in exercise of the powers conferred upon me under section 163 BNSS do hereby imposed CURFEW from 8:00 PM up to 6:00 AM up to 200 metres from the Zero Line International Border.
Durning the curfew period there shall be na movement of people at the International Border with the intention to cross the international boundary with Bangladesh or sneak into the Indian Territory.
Unauthorized procession or unlawful assembly of5 (five) or more persons and carrying Arms and other instruments which can be used as weapons including sticks & stones in and around the Indo Bangladesh Border.
Illegal, undesirable activities, smuggling of cattlelcontraband goods, betel nut, betel leaves, dry fish, biri, cigarettes, chai patti etc. In view of the urgency of the matter, this order is passed ex-parte and shall come into force with immediate effect and until further orders.
