Shillong, June 01: The Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District Mr PS Dkhar today at 4.00 AM in the morning imposed curfew in the surrounding localities of Morphran ,Them Iewmawlong, Umsohsun, Mawkhar, Jaiaw, Wahthapbroo, Lumdingjri, Mission Compound.
The Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District told SP News Agency that the District administration imposed curfew is to control the law and order situation in the area due to incident that happen on Thursday night. Milled lathi charged done just to disperse the crowed gather in the area.
When asked how long will this curfew will be in force, the Deputy Commissioner said that today he will call for the meeting to access the situation and then he will take the decision whether the curfew will be lifted or will continued it depend on the law and order situation on today.
On the question whether the District administration in constituted the inquiry committee on the incident that happen on Thursday, the Deputy Commissioner said that on this regard they will discussed today in the meeting if inquiry is required or he will seek only the police report.
