Shillong, Dec 02: The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in an order issued on 2nd December, 2020 has informed that report has been received from the Incident Commander Zone-VI and the Medical Officer in-charge of Madanrting UPHC that there is a sudden spike of COVID-19 positive cases in the recent days in Madanrting.
In order to prevent further transmission among the susceptible population, early detection through active house to house (H-T-H) search for cases and persons with co-morbidities along with contact tracing and testing is required and for effective house to house (H-T-H) surveillance, complete containment of the area is required to ensure people stay indoors during the active search for cases.
In this regard, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District has declared the Block D, Block E and Block F of Madanrting with the following demarcations as a Containment Area so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit on the site.
Block D with house of Smti Queen Kharkongor in the North, football ground in the East, house of Shri Theodore Nongsteng in the South and compound of Shri Michael Kharkongor in the West.
Block E with house of Miss Sange in the North, RYMA parking lot in the South, house of Ratle in the East and house of Mr. Sam in the West.
Block F (Area 1) with forest in the North, house of Anita Marboh in the South, house of Rudolf Pyrbot in the East and house of Philomena Nongbet in the West.
Block F (Area 2) with ICI building in the North, house of P. Pariat in the South, Green building in the East and house of Wilson Kharumnuid in the West.
The order states that no person shall be allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within the area shall not move out besides all the inhabitants within the containment area shall strictly remain inside their homes.
All the shopping and commercial establishments of whatsoever nature shall be closed immediately. The Incident Commander, Zone-VI, Shillong shall supervise and monitor strict compliance of the order. Any violation of the order shall entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC.
Any person residing within the containment area displaying symptoms of COVID-19 or requiring medical attention may call 108 or contact CCMT/Medical Officer/Incident Commander concerned.
Delivery of essential items will be through shops identified by the respective sub-localities and as per the arrangement made by them in consultation with the CCMT and Incident Commander concerned.This order will come into force with effect from 3rd December, 2020 and until further orders.
