Shillong, Sept 23: Due to the detection of positive COVID-19 cases and high risk contacts in the Quarter of Mrs. Isabella Dhar, Oxford Hills, Hattak Colony near Angel Guest House and the house of Mr. Paras Malbothra, Oxford Hills, Hattak Colony near Lelangki Cable TV Network, house of Mr. K. B. Thapa, Rilbong Nepali Compound and house of Mrs. Santana Jyrwa, Bishnupur, near K.O.R. Taxi Stand which requires contact tracing, testing and isolation to be effected in the interest of health of general public to prevent against any possible spread of COVID-19.
The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, in orders issued on 22nd September, 2020 has declared the above mentioned houses as micro-containment areas with effect from 22nd September, 2020 so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit on the site.
The orders state that no persons are allowed to move into these containment areas and inhabitants within these areas shall not move out, besides all inhabitants within the containment areas shall strictly remain inside their homes.
The concerned Incident Commanders shall supervise and monitor strict compliance of these order. Any violation of these orders shall entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and I.P.C.
